FUNG drops a hint that he would let FAT join the Board of Directors but it is KIT who ends up being the new member. Thinking that he has been tricked, FAT decides to side with CHI against FUNG. The travel agency run by FAT is a close business partner of Royal Court Hotel. To seek revenge, FAT proposes to terminate the partnership agreement with the hotel. FUNG offers FAT better terms and conditions hoping that this will change his mind. FAT finally accepts the offer for the sake of money. FUNG encourages WAN to pursue a legal claim against the WONGS, for which KIT is so grateful. FUNG has invited TING’s right-hand man KUEN to be KIT’s assistant. KIT has been very independent and is not used to being accompanied by anyone. He tries to turn down the idea of hiring an assistant but in vain.… ...

YIP and CHI force WAN to surrender all her shares in Royal Court Hotel, which disgusts KIT so much and once again drags him into a row with his brothers. A customer accuses the hotel of providing unclean food. KEI, who is well experienced in dealing with sensitive problems, has the conflict resolved quickly and receives much praise from FUNG. FUNG carries out an investigation into the food-poisoning case and YIP’s wife, IP CHU-LEE, who is responsible for food purchasing, tries to pin the blame on Kin Kee. To cover up the truth, she even forces the Head Chef YAN to go on leave. SUM cannot bear to see her parents being wronged and goes to ask LEE for an explanation. With KIT’s help, SUM is finally able to find out the source of the food poisoning. Now that Kin Kee is proved innocent, SUM is so thankful to KIT. KEI tries to approach FUNG and con him into believing that they have slept together.… ...

Having read the letter to FUNG from TING, WAN decides to give all her shares to FUNG for free. KIT runs into LONG, a good friend he made in prison. Later he finds out that LONG is the brother of SUM. KIT discovers that FUNG has been looking for his biological father, which makes him suspect that he is not really the son of TING. Having spotted a photo of himself and KEI inside her office, FUNG comes to believe that the two of them have had sex before. SUM has dinner with KIT. She is not only old-fashioned in her looks but also gives off a fishy smell, which makes her a most unwelcome guest to the restaurant. Having got the cold shoulder from the waiter, SUM is a little upset. KIT gives her a lot of fashion advice and successfully turns her into a gorgeous young lady. SUM is so grateful for his help and starts to fall for him. On the surface, KEI seems to be working for CHI, but in fact she is sent by FAT to approach FUNG.… ...

LONG tries to do KIT a favor by forcing FUNG to return WAN’s shares but FUNG fights back and LONG is beaten almost to death. KIT, who gets drunk, has become a target for a group of thieves. Luckily SUM passes by and manages to drive the thieves away. A member of staff has left a message on the hotel’s official website enumerating all the wrongdoings by FUNG. KIT is suspected to be the one who has left the anonymous message. As appointed by FUNG, CHI is to be responsible for guest reception while YIP is to take charge of the promotion of the Food Festival. CHI is well known for his good PR skills. He is not happy with FUNG’s arrangement. FAT points out that FUNG is on YIP’s side and this will surely pose a serious threat to CHI. CHI believes what FAT says and gets a little jealous. LONG has run up huge debts and is forced to engage in drugs trafficking.… ...

KEI sneaks into FUNG’s office trying to steal information without knowing that FUNG has already set up a hidden spy camera. She gets informed by FAT just in time and ends up doing nothing. FUNG passes the confidential information to CHI under the name of KEI. The next day, FUNG accuses CHI of being involved in theft of information and kicks him out of the Board of Directors right away. KIT is furious to see his brothers being framed one by one. He goes to ask FUNG for an explanation, during which he happens to discover that FUNG has been embroiled in a bitter feud with the WONGS for years. Pretending to have been hurt, KEI blames FUNG for making use of her in his fight against CHI. FUNG tries to intercede for himself but in vain. YIP learns from the hotel’s official website that LEE has been cheating on him. He gets really mad and picks a quarrel with LEE. Feeling deeply wronged, LEE leaves home in a rage.… ...

FUNG falls in love with KEI and is dragged into her trap bit by bit. KIT is shocked yet ashamed to know that TING had never given up on him and would do whatever he could in support of him. FUNG proposes to rename the hotel, which is strongly opposed by KIT. KIT wants to stop FUNG but ends up being insulted in front of others. FUNG would like to appoint KUEN to the post of General Manager but KUEN turns him down for the sake of righteousness. A department head has organized a petition against the proposed renaming of the hotel. FUNG consults KEI for advice on the issue and KEI suggests he should take an uncompromising stand. This is actually the advice from FAT, who would like to take this opportunity to sow discord between FUNG and his staff. He believes that his chance will come when everyone has turned against FUNG. FUNG soon manages to resolve the matter and FAT’s plan is once again thwarted.… ...

Kit realizes that he has wrongly blamed Ting for many years, regrets not fulfilling his filial duty. Sam visits Kit, shocked to see bloodstains on his door. Sam encourages Kit to face reality and accept Fung's challenge to take back Royal Court. Kit learns from his mistakes and regains his spirits. He tries to persuade his two brothers to join forces against Fung. As the situation is urgent, they put aside their prejudices and fight together. Yip and Chi decide not to sell their shares to Fat, and Fat's plan to take over Royal Court fails again. Kit invites Quan to be his advisor. Quan proposes to persuade small shareholders to support the Wang family, and Kit and his two brothers act separately. After seeing Ting's letter to Fung, Yun decides to give him the shares unconditionally. Kit meets his friend Long, whom he met in prison, learns that he is Sam's brother. Kit learns that Fung is looking for his biological father, and therefore guesses that he is not Ting's illegitimate son.

KEI is relieved to learn that KAN is all right. KEI has the whole family to support and is too busy to look after KAN. KAN is brought up by KEI’s aunt HAN and he never feels close to his mother. KEI reveals to FUNG her past and FUNG shows much sympathy for her. FUNG is so desperate to have the hotel renamed. To get what he wants, FUNG tries to win FAT’s support by promising to sell him a small number of shares and introduce him into the Board of Directors. Knowing about FUNG’s real motive, FAT has a change of heart and raises his objection to the renaming proposal. KIT invites YIP and CHI to be his assistants while FUNG appoints his right-hand man LUNG KWOK CHEUNG as General Manager. FUNG needs KIT to boost the occupancy rate of the hotel, or else he will be dismissed. KIT is keen to show his power and accepts FUNG’s challenge subsequently. FAT’s daughter, HO-YEE, CHLOE, has returned from overseas.… ...

KEI flies to Shanghai to look after FUNG who has fallen ill. The pair seem to have achieved a big step in their relationship. KEI goes to discuss the bid on behalf of FUNG. FAT needs KEI to gather some information so as to obstruct FUNG’s bid for the contract. LEE has resumed her film career since her separation with YIP. YIP tries but fails to make up with LEE. CHLOE arranges with her friends to put up at Royal Court Hotel, for which KIT feels so grateful. SUM is very concerned about KIT’s progress and suggests LONG, as a friend of KIT’s, should try to help him out. While everyone is struggling to meet the target, CHI takes a big gamble at the hotel, which is discovered by KIT. KIT gets so angry that he gives CHI a punch in the face. CHI points out that he joined in the gamble because he wanted to get more orders. Having heard his explanation, KIT feels so guilty and apologizes to CHI right away.… ...

KIT shows up at another hotel nearby trying to seek and win more customers. A big client appreciates his courage and aggressiveness and chooses to collaborate with KIT’s hotel. The crown princess of a small kingdom comes to put up at Royal Court Hotel, and KIT has saved her a number of rooms for security purposes. The princess tries to take her life but is saved by YIP in time. She confides to YIP that her husband, the crown prince, has been too busy to give enough attention to her, which makes her so depressed and lonely. YIP feels sympathy for her and gives her a few words of consolation. YIP escorts the princess back to her room. LEE spots YIP and the princess together and gets incredibly jealous. Having heard the princess’s explanation, LEE is relieved and makes up with YIP. The hotel is fully booked and there are no more rooms available.… ...

SUM gets blamed by a hotel customer. CHLOE tries to intercede for her and helps her out of the predicament. SUM is so thankful to her for her thoughtfulness and assistance. KIT has been looking out for CHLOE in the best way possible, which upsets SUM a bit. Knowing that CHLOE is very fond of KIT, FAT encourages her to do anything possible to win his heart so that they can have a source of information at their fingertips. On her first day at the Sales Department, SUM gets severely criticized for her appearance and clothes. Pretending to be nice, CHLOE offers SUM a lot of fashion tips. FUNG manages to raise enough capital but HUNG and CHEUNG who are in charge of the project suddenly ask for a higher price. Not until this moment does FUNG realize that there has been a spy around him. FUNG is desperate to get the spy out, so he makes up an excuse and dismisses his personal secretary ELAINE.… ...

HUNG and CHEUNG arrive at Hong Kong. KIT tries to get in touch with them but in vain. KIT has been looking for ways to raise capital. With CHLOE’s help, he manages to secure a loan from a bank. SUM has enrolled on a number of further education courses for KIT’s sake. LONG thinks that this is not worth her while because she has sacrificed a lot but got nothing in return. CHLOE expresses her love for KIT but KIT points out that SUM is the one he really wants to be with. PONG, the chairman of a Korean financial group, is interested in bidding for the contract with Royal Court Hotel. FAT offers to collaborate with PONG and PONG promises to give him 40% of shares in return. As instructed by FAT, KEI tries to approach FUNG again. FUNG has reached agreement with HUNG and CHEUNG and they are about to sign a contract. But KEI, by stratagem, manages to thwart their collaboration plan. The shareholders need an explanation from FUNG.… ...

The Board of Directors has agreed to build a new hotel. Royal Court Hotel is in urgent need of money to put the new project into practice and to settle the existing debts, which vexes KIT terribly. CHLOE offers to flirt with a banker, hoping that he will delay seeking recovery of the money due from Royal Court. KIT, however, is unaware of this. KIT has located an investor who is willing to put capital into the new hotel. FUNG thinks highly of KIT and appoints him to the post of General Manager. Upon his promotion, KIT hires YIP and CHI as his personal assistants. FUNG goes to visit the tomb of TING, during which he mentions TING’s last wish. TING is in fact FUNG’s benefactor. Instead of taking revenge, FUNG has actually come to unite YIP, CHI and KIT so that the brothers can lead the hotel forward. FUNG plans to step down when the construction works of the new hotel are completed.… ...

CHLOE means to delete the files saved on SUM’s computer, leaving her unable to submit her report in the meeting. LONG has won a lottery prize worth a great deal of money. Not long after, he meets a man called CHAN TAI-HOI who later swindles him out of all his lottery money. The Government is planning to carry out an urban renewal project. FUNG who is keen to start the construction of Tung Shan Garden would like to collaborate with a property developer. FAT asks KEI to enter certain information concerning the Korean financial group into FUNG’s computer, and he will then seize the chance to accuse FUNG of releasing confidential data. If his plan works, the collaboration project between FUNG and the property developer will surely be put on hold. FAT points out to other Board members that FUNG has betrayed Royal Court Hotel. With evidence provided, FUNG has not only proved his innocence but also made a counter-accusation against FAT.… ...

HOI is a bit of a spendthrift and has frittered away all the money conned. Having nowhere to go, he is about to become homeless. LONG sympathizes with him and offers to put the man up at his apartment. A group of tour members have had an accident overseas. FAT is badly in need of money and has to mortgage his shares in Royal Court Hotel to pay the compensation. Believing that CHLOE is in league with FAT, her workmates come to her with long faces and give her a good telling-off. SUM tries to intercede for CHLOE but is mistaken for a gossip-monger by KIT, which upsets her so much. Security Guard KEN learns from the CCTV tape that it was CHLOE who deleted SUM’s files. Immediately he goes and tells SUM about this. FUNG spreads a rumor around that FAT is in serious financial difficulty and has to sell his shares in Royal Court Hotel to pay the debts. KEI falls in love with FUNG and for his sake, she refuses to work for FAT any longer.… ...

FUNG denies having anything to do with TING’s death but KIT and his brothers do not believe him. They are resolved to track down the driver concerned to testify against FUNG. FUNG is upset to see that KIT and his brothers are all misled by FAT. He really wants to unmask FAT but does not know how. KIT reveals to LONG that FUNG is the killer of TING. LONG wants to do something for KIT and asks for HOI’s help in luring FUNG into a swindle. Having himself disguised as a millionaire, HOI checks into Royal Court and offers to invest in FUNG’s “Tung Shan Garden” Project. A customer called BEN thinks highly of SUM and invites her to join his travel agency in the Philippines. SUM and BEN have dinner together, during which they run into KIT. BEN seems to have a strong regard and affection for SUM, which makes KIT a little jealous. FUNG has a meeting with HOI. He has a feeling that HOI is his long-lost father, SHAN, but HOI does not admit it.… ...

After several rounds of investigations, FUNG has finally found out the real identity of HOI. Despite this, HOI insists that he has no relationship with FUNG. LONG introduces KIT to HOI. KIT bribes HOI to approach FUNG and get him the most up-to-date information about the guy. FAT is desperate to beat FUNG and decides to team up with PONG to bid for the contract for the urban renewal project. KIT’s brothers tease him about his relationship with CHLOE as the couple do look like a pair of lovers. KIT feels so embarrassed and stresses that he and CHLOE are only friends, which, however, irks CHLOE no end. Despite his love for SUM, KIT is not able to turn down CHLOE who is passionate all the time. CHLOE means to embarrass SUM in public but SUM has got no clue about her motive. BEN, who is out of Hong Kong, sends SUM a bouquet of flowers, which makes her an object of ridicule among her colleagues.… ...

KEI knows that HOI is a swindler. To keep FUNG out of harm’s way, she urges HOI to leave and promises to give him some money in return. HOI shows FUNG the money KEI gave him, thinking that it is the best way to win his trust. FUNG falls into HOI’s trap and reveals to him a secret that has been kept for years. KIT accuses HOI of conning money from the “Tung Shan Garden” Project, expecting that HOI will point the finger at FUNG and turn against him in the end. HOI is arrested and FUNG is willing to give anything to defend him. The property developer believes that FUNG is in league with HOI and decides to withdraw from the project. LONG blames KIT for betraying HOI and falls out with him. After a series of medical treatment, HOI has finally got back his memories. Knowing about FUNG’s reason for joining Royal Court, HOI tries to explain the truth to the WONGS. KIT and his family do not believe HOI, which leaves him in great disappointment.… ...

HOI plans to sneak out of Hong Kong and LONG decides to follow him anywhere he goes. It is widely believed that HOI has made up lies in an attempt to defend FUNG. SUM is the only one who trusts HOI, for which HOI is so grateful. During their escape, HOI and LONG get attacked by one of their bitter enemies and fall into the sea after a terrible fight. LONG is rescued while HOI goes missing. CHLOE comes to console KIT who is extremely worried about LONG. The pair get a bit lost in ecstasy and end up having sex. The police cannot locate HOI, which upsets FUNG tremendously. Believing that KIT should be held responsible for HOI’s death, FUNG vows to take revenge on the WONGS. KEI suggests FUNG should let go of everything and move to the States with her, but FUNG turns her down at once. FUNG seems to have lost his senses. He is full of hatred and the only thing in his mind is to take revenge, which worries KEI greatly.… ...

FAT’s ex-wife, HING, comes back to Hong Kong after having inherited a generous legacy from her relatives. She reveals to FAT that she is interested in investing in the hotel sector. SUM discovers that the flowers are actually from CHLOE and not BEN. She wonders what tricks CHLOE has been playing and goes to ask her for an explanation. CHLOE insists that she is innocent and that SUM is making false accusations against her out of envy. CHLOE thinks that FAT is going to get back with HING but FAT explains that he only wants to make use of her and her money to win the hotel back. HING sends her assistant, WILSON, to talk with KEI in an attempt to enlist her to help persuade FUNG to sell his shares in Royal Court. KEI has been longing for a new life with FUNG in the States and agreeing to HING’s request will exactly get her what she wants.… ...

FUNG has great respect for TING and HOI and has never forgotten what they told him. Despite his hatred towards KIT, he decides to do his best to get Royal Court back on track so TING’s and HOI’s wishes can be fulfilled. FUNG puts YIP and CHI in charge of a significant project but the brothers are worried that there is a plot against them. YIP and CHI put a lot of time and effort in their work while KIT, who is full of anger, spends all his time thinking about how to take revenge. The “Tung Shan Garden” Project is cancelled and FUNG is already gearing up for the acquisition of the Sunny Bay Resort in the Philippines. To prove that he is more capable than FUNG, KIT, without consulting other Board members, has acquired Sunny Bay with the fund budgeted for the new hotel. HING wants to match CHLOE up with KIT and persuades him to get engaged to her daughter.… ...

FUNG has no intention of acquiring Sunny Bay. He means to lay the trap for KIT hoping that the lad will learn something from this experience. FUNG knows that HING is a woman with malicious intentions, and to protect himself from harm, he has figured out a way to foil FAT’s plot. FUNG tricks HING into believing that FAT has been having an affair with KEI. Filled with rage, HING goes to ask KEI for an explanation and gets into a terrible quarrel with her. Suddenly FUNG shows up and tries to calm them down. KEI explains to FUNG that FAT is her benefactor and that she has to repay him by working for him. LONG offers to help out at Kin Kee, which makes his parents very happy. LONG gets bullied by a bunch of gangsters and KIT helps to drive them away. The lads have finally made up. KIT will head for Sunny Bay to do some follow-up. Before he goes, he pays LONG a visit to say farewell, during which he asks after SUM.… ...

Believing that FAT has had an affair with KEI, HING gets so angry and decides to stop investing in FAT’s business. KEI explains the truth to HING and HING is finally convinced. FAT is keen to invest in the hotel sector and plans to set up a chain of hotels of his own to compete with Royal Court. He, accompanied by HING, announces his future development plans in the press conference. FUNG offers higher salaries and better benefits to his staff to prevent them from moving to FAT’s hotel. FAT’s plot is once again thwarted. FUNG misses KEI terribly. KWOK-CHEUNG suggests he should go and try to patch up his relationship with KEI. SUM gets so confused when he sees KIT again in the Philippines. BEN expresses his love for SUM in front of others, which upsets KIT slightly. FAT has acquired a number of hotels within a short period so as to increase the market shares. CHLOE gets harassed by a drunk customer.… ...

A former member of staff of Sunny Bay called HUNG believes that MARIA had stabbed him in the back and caused him to be dismissed. He comes to seek revenge and has thrown the hotel into chaos. With her patience, MARIA manages to settle the matter. KIT is inspired by MARIA, from whom he learns that forgiveness is the key to reconciliation. Looking back on the past, he comes to realize that FUNG has adopted the same approach when dealing with him. KIT is deeply in love with SUM and decides to break up with CHLOE. Subsequent to a DNA test, FUNG is now certain that he is KAN’s father. Sunny Bay has achieved a significant increase in profits. KIT has fulfilled what FUNG expected him to do and his hard work has proved worthwhile. SUM rejects BEN. SUM feels so guilty towards CHLOE and decides to return to Hong Kong to take a rest. Knowing that SUM has left already, KIT heads back to Hong Kong straight away. FAT believes that KIT is responsible for CHLOE’s injury and KIT’s denial of responsibility has enraged him beyond measure. LONG is told that FAT is going to have KIT beaten to death. He is worried about KIT and flies off to save him. KIT gets attacked by a bunch of gangsters but SUM arrives in time to drive them away. Having gone through such a hard time, the pair finally make up and get back together. KAN is kidnapped. FUNG decides to sell his shares in Royal Court to pay the ransom, irrespective of how much he is going to lose in the transaction. FAT has finally become the biggest shareholder. KIT has tracked down the driver who knocked down and killed TING. The driver confesses that he was bribed by FAT to make a false accusation against FUNG.… ...

WAN pays CHLOE a visit, but is driven away by FAT. FAT not only declares his determination to break off his ties with the WONGS but also slags KIT off for framing FUNG who has come to help his family. The truth has finally come out and the WONGS are shocked to learn that they have misunderstood FUNG all these years. KEI cannot confront FUNG any longer and decides to move overseas with KAN and HAN. FUNG does not blame KEI as he understands that it is all the fault of KIT. Full of hatred, FUNG vows to seek revenge on the WONGS. FUNG offers to team up with FAT to fight against the WONGS. FAT issues more shares in an attempt to reduce the share stake held by the WONGS. FAT is now the biggest shareholder of Royal Court. FUNG has got a series of plots against YIP, CHI and KIT and he is resolved to kick them out of Royal Court. Thinking that FUNG has gone too far, LONG offers to teach him a lesson by beating him up.… ...

He asks HING for capital but is rejected. FAT is in need of money and approaches several banks for loans. He mortgages all his shares in Royal Court in exchange for cash and finally succeeds in bidding for the land. KIT makes a call to FAT. FAT shows up, and is shocked to see FUNG, who is accompanied by HOI, KIT, YIP and CHI…
