CHING complains that HANG acts like a big mummy’s boy. However, FUN admires him and says that he is like the old him. BRIAN, who is in charge of the administration, tells FUN that a tribe in southern Sudan did not show up for vaccine injections. FUN and SUSAN take the vaccines to the tribe. They encounter some gun fights on the way. In order to persuade the tribal head to let him vaccinate all the children in the tribe, FUN drinks a glass of poisoned wine. The Ling Shing Clinic is shut down because its paediatrician TUNG CHI SUM has measles. SUM complains about the itch, which bothers MD HE ZHENG a lot. 45mCardiologist WONGPO FUN returned to the Ling Shiu Hospital in 1996. He persuaded a tycoon Mr CHING to have laser surgery, which was the latest technology to stimulate the growth of new blood vessels. While FUN was performing the surgery, his girlfriend HA HIU TUNG, a gynaecologist who worked for an international voluntary organization, the “Life Force”, in Kenya, was delivering a baby for a woman who had malaria. Unfortunately, the woman died from the labour, which depressed TUNG. When TUNG came back to Hong Kong, she tried to persuade FUN to go to Kenya with her. FUN proposed to her with a specially made key ring. She dropped the ring and was killed by a car when she tried to find it back on the road. FUN was devastated. He kept his promise to TUNG and set off to Kenya as a volunteer. He took a huge risk by helping to deliver a baby. Eight years later, FUN has become a gynaecologist and sets up his own clinic, the “Lung Shing”.… ...
